Our discovery platforms harness the power of viruses to systematically identify therapies optimised for a chosen patient population, with a focus on oncology.

We are looking for a Scientist familiar with pharmacokinetics, biodistribution and tumour models, biomarker analysis and in vitro assays, to join our growing multidisciplinary team. This position represents an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take a key role in the development of an early stage oncolytic virus product through to clinical application. The successful applicant will be working in a fast paced environment with a team of scientists to design and execute experiments and to deliver strategic research and development goals.


  • Design and execution of cutting edge research projects; 

  • Design, manage, and perform in vivo pharmacology studies and in vitro studies to support candidate development;

  • Prioritisation of workloads and coordination of scientific work streams and processes;

  • Collation and presentation of research findings at internal meetings;

  • Contribution to a range of key strategic documents including: reports and presentations, biomarker analysis, study/validation plans and reports, standard operating procedures, patent applications, and regulatory filings.

Candidate Profile


  • BSc / Msc / PhD degree in a relevant scientific discipline with strong experience in cancer biology;

  • A significant level of hands on experience in performing in vivo and in vitro experiments in oncology models for drug discovery and ability to work independently;

  • Experience performing intratumoral, intravenous and intraperitoneal administrations and establishing tumour models;

  • Experience performing efficacy, pharmacokinetics, toxicity and biodistribution studies;

  • Familiarity with animal ethics regulations, experience with home office returns;

  • Wet lab experience, including cell culture experience;

  • Biomarker analysis employing  IHC / IF / flow cytometry/ ELISA or other methods;

  • Ability to work in an organised and methodical fashion, and keep excellent records;

  • Builds networks with other teams and external specialists in area;

  • Strong team player who enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment, and is adaptable to evolving business needs; 

  • Evidence of impactful research experience through publications, patents and/or presentations at national/international conferences

  • Strong IT skills (including proficiency with Google Suite and OneNote. 


  • Experience of in vivo imaging (e.g. bioluminescence);

  • Experience of tissue dissociation, DNA extraction, QPCR;

  • Experience in HPLC. 

  • Experience in handling and processing primary tissue samples;

  • Experience establishing stable cell lines;

  • Knowledge of cancer biology and the tumour microenvironment; 

  • Experience working with oncolytic viruses and/or adenoviruses;

  • High motivation for, and commitment to, research on anticancer therapies and drug discovery;

  • Initiative, and a willingness and propensity to take on responsibility;

  • A collaborative attitude with a flair for problem-solving.
