Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Scientist to join our growing multidisciplinary and dynamic team. This position represents an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute to the development of category changing cancer therapies. This will involve working in a fast paced environment to progress Theolytics preclinical pipeline, from applying Theolytics Platform for novel oncolytic virus candidate identification to supporting CTA/IND enabling studies and collaborations to deliver strategic research and development goals.
Key responsibilities

Progress and expand Theolytics’ preclinical pipeline;

Work within a team of multidisciplinary scientists to effectively deliver key company objectives;

Support collaborative relationships with external parties including clinicians to enable relevant patient sample access under ethical guidelines;

Collate and present research findings at both internal and external meetings; and

Contribute to a range of key strategic documents including: reports, presentations, patent applications and regulatory filings.
We’re looking for someone that has
-
A PhD in Cancer Biology, Immunology or similar discipline;

Expertise in the development, optimisation and execution of cellular assays, preferably for cancer;

Experience with working with patient derived samples (normal and tumour tissue and blood);
-
Experience in developing and utilising advanced 3D tissue models (organoid, spheroid and/or transwell models);
-
Expertise in multi-colour flow cytometry and analysis, including experience in cellular profiling;

Knowledge of cancer biology and immunotherapy;
-
Strong team player who enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment, and is adaptable to evolving business needs;

Evidence of impactful research experience;
-
Pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry experience;
-
High motivation for, and commitment to, research on anticancer therapies and drug discovery;

Initiative, and a willingness and propensity to take on responsibility;

Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; and
-
Strong IT skills (including proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and comfort using shared drives.
It would be useful if you have
-
Molecular biology/biochemistry skills (eg. DNA/RNA extraction and quantitation, PCR, qPCR, ELISA, cloning);

Experience with next generation sequencing;

Experience working with oncolytic viruses and/or adenoviruses;

Experience with immunofluorescence or immunohistochemistry;
-
Experience with live cell imaging; and
-
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.
